Meet Evan Fontaine, composer of the winning composition “Gloria Mundi”

Evan Fontaine is a composer, singer, and saxophonist based in New York City, and he holds a Bachelor of Music Composition from Indiana University. He writes for the voice in many idioms, with his reach extending to folk, classical, and electronic music. He is also a member of the indie rock band Copilots.
His palette blurs the sentimental with the satirical, and his aesthetic fascinations revolve around speech, mortality, and the relationships between humans and the natural world. These typically unfold in tandem with his own lyrics, all with the express purpose of activating the listener’s most vivid emotions and memories.
