It’s important β€”> Monday, July 12, at 7 pm is the time for our Annual Meeting. We will be using the features of Zoom as we review this very unusual and successful past year, announce plans for the 2021-22 season, elect a slate of Board members, and this year, elect a new Vice President of the Choir. On Monday morning, our new Operations Manager, Claire, will be emailing specific access information for Zoom as well as attachments for your review (Member Handbook, Member Agreement, Anti-Harassment and Anti-Discrimination Policies). Per our bi-laws, all dues-paying members of the Choir, Choir staff, and "any person who contributes $500 or more to the corporation in the fiscal year" is welcome to attend the Annual Meeting.

And remember that our 2nd session of Summer Sings is planned for Monday, July 19 at our usual 7 pm time, also via Zoom.

Auditions for new members to join PSC for our 2021-22 season will take place over 3 days in August. Click here for more information including the audition registration form. Please share this link with folks you may know that are looking to participate in "Portland's Choir Since 1945."

A change from last week, "voice checks" for returning members will be accomplished separately from auditions. Regardless of when you auditioned or last sang a voice check, Choir members who participated in at least 70% of our 2020-21 Virtual Season (October through May) will NOT have to sing for Alissa and Wendy at this time. Emails will be sent to every Choir member in mid-July with specific voice check information (you will or will NOT need to perform a voice check). An excerpt from the Missa Solemnis will be used this year. Specific information will be in the customized email later this month.

From Wendy: Our first session of Vocalize and Socialize is right around the corner (July 26th). Please register using this online registration link (Look for the green Register tile). We have reserved the "outdoor but otherwise covered" basketball court at the Multnomah Arts Center. This will be an opportunity to work on getting your voice back in shape while singing through some of our favorites and we finally get to be with each other! All vaccinated folks are welcome, current Choir member or not.

From Alissa: Welcome to our 6th installment of "Let's Get Ready To Sing Again!" This week, we continue experimenting with more demanding vocalises while keeping our breath and position consistent. We also get to sing An die Musik with piano accompaniment and sing through our new song, Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes by British composer Roger Quilter. All of these lessons, the vocalise sheets, and the PDFs of the music can be found on the Members and Alumni/Guest pages of our website (scroll down the website page).

If you are planning to sing in the special choir at the memorial service for former PSC member John Salmon on Sunday, July 25th, remember to send your "count me in" email to Alejandra Blech (aleblech@gmail.com). Additional details are in the June 11th edition of Noteworthy News (Link to Noteworthy News archives).

And lastly, we received news today that former long-time PSC member Carol Lewis has passed away recently after a 2 year battle with leukemia. Here is a link to her obituary.
