From Wendy: Many thanks to our brainstorming committee for meeting with us and sharing their creativity and wisdom. During these conversations, a common topic was how much we all miss spending time with our choir community. This summer on July 26 and August 23, from 7 to 8 pm we will “Vocalize and Socialize” together. The plan is to meet outdoors, in person, masked and distanced, and sing some of your favorite pieces followed by a time of socializing. We are looking for good venues that have a covered space with an electrical outlet for our keyboard. If you have ideas, please let us know (Jayde@pschoir.org). We can’t wait to hear you and see you so save the dates!

From Alissa: We had fantastic news Thursday that the CDC now endorses fully-vaccinated people participating in indoor activities such as singing in a choir. Given the CDC’s updated recommendations and Governor Kate Brown’s support of this new federal guidance, we have great reason to feel optimistic about an in-person 2021-22 season! We are now waiting on our professional organizations including American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), Chorus America, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) to provide us with best practices to ensure we initiate a safe and successful transition back to live rehearsal and performance. You can review the updated CDC guidelines here.

Last week, we introduced the first in a series of articles from medical professionals within our Choir to help us with factual information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on us. Here is this week's installment (thank you Zarya). (Last week's article can be viewed here).
