Ready, set, SING. Our first meeting of the Virtual Masterworks Series features the Verdi Requiem and is on Monday! Connect with our Zoom access code for regular Choir members as well as guest members and Choir alumni. Our esteemed leader for this session is maestro Josh Habermann of the Santa Fe Desert Chorale and Dallas Symphony Orchestra (Texas, not Oregon). Here is a LINK for more information about our guest. The choral score for us to read (sing) will be shared as a part of the meeting. Using Zoom, we can engage with each other AND our guests. The session will be recorded for possible later use by All-Classical Radio so please be on your usual best behavior.

The attached flyer can be downloaded and emailed to your friends and relatives. You should also be receiving email "blasts" from the Choir office that are sent to the folks on our email list. A personal invitation is always best so feel free.... The image will also be available to share with your recommending comments on Facebook.

Our Masterworks Series is designed as a special opportunity to work with conductors from outside the Portland area who have expertise in the work presented. These four Zoom gatherings are designed to add a depth of understanding of the work while giving us the opportunity to get together (virtually) and keep singing. As noted above, the February session will feature the Beethoven Missa Solemnis and Duain Wolfe, Director of the Chicago Symphony Chorus. March will focus on the Faure Requiem and Elena Sharkova, Artistic Director of Cantabile Youth Singers (San Francisco area). In April, we will enjoy singing the Durufle Requiem with Eugene Rogers, Director of choirs and associate professor of conducting at the University of Michigan. Please note that both March and April sessions will be on Tuesdays (March 23 and April 27). Additional information about our guest conductors can be viewed on our website, pschoir.org.
