Important upcoming dates:

From Alissa: Thank you to the 50+ attendees of last Monday's very first Vocalize & Socialize. It was such a joy to see everyone, meet our guest singers, and make music together IN PERSON! Be sure to register for our next Vocalize & Socialize on August 23rd by clicking this registration link. We will continue to be on the outdoor basketball court at the Multnomah Arts Center. Plan on coming early to sign in, get your music, and socialize -- and be sure to bring a chair! All vaccinated singers are welcome. After singing, the plan is to continue the social interaction at the nearby Lucky Labrador Pub.

Of course, before the next Vocalize & Socialize, we have one more exciting Summer Sings on August 16. This one will feature assistant professor of music at Reed College, Shohei Kobayashi as our guest clinician for our reading of Ralph Vaughan Williams' sublime Dona Nobis Pacem. You can read more about our guest by visiting our webpage (link).

“Voice Checks" for returning PSC members will be accomplished separately from auditions. An email was sent Friday afternoon (July 16) to every Choir member with specific voice check information (you will or will NOT need to perform a voice check). Excerpts from the Missa Solemnis will be used this year. Specific information is in your customized email. Regardless of when you auditioned or last sang a voice check, Choir members who participated in at least 70% of our 2020-21 Virtual Season (October through May) will NOT have to sing for Alissa and Wendy at this time. If you have not received the voice check email, please email Claire right away (claire@pschoir.org).

All 8 of this summer's vocal technique and practice sessions are available to review on the Members and Alumni/Guest pages of our website. Click on the Let's Get Ready To Sing Again tab then scroll down the website page.

Auditions for new members to join PSC for our 2021-22 season will take place over 3 days in August. Click here for more information including the audition registration form. Please share this (link) with folks you may know that are looking to participate in "Portland's Choir Since 1945."

From Wendy: Exciting news! PSC has been asked to be the choir for the André Bocelli concert Thursday November 3 at 7:30 PM. Many details are still TBA but we know the concert is at the Moda Center with a dress rehearsal with orchestra that same day. PSC is fortunate to be hired by the Oregon Music Festival for this fun and exciting concert. OMF will pass along details as soon as they have them. We are guessing the repertoire will be very similar to the last time you performed with Bocelli and will use rehearsal time this Fall to work on the music. Save the date!
