Last Wednesday, an email was sent to all Choir members with a special link to our annual end-of-year survey. So far, about 1/3 of our membership has completed it -- Thank You! Kindly take a moment right away to let us know if you plan to sing next season. It's a short survey this year "and completely painless." Please complete the survey by June 9th so we can plan for next season.
If you know someone who might be interested, here is the official job posting for our Operations Manager position. The cutoff date for applications is Wednesday, June 2.
From Wendy: On July 26 and August 23, we will have an opportunity to sing together in person! We will be meeting at the Multnomah Arts Center outdoor, covered basketball court from 7 - 8 pm to “Vocalize and Socialize.” In the next few weeks, we will email a method for you to register so we know how many are coming and can have music ready for you. Looking forward to seeing and hearing you!

Former Choir member and basso-profundo Dwight (Doc) Uphouse sends greetings to us from his new home in Oklahoma where he moved to be closer to family members. He had knee replacement surgery earlier this week and I'm sure would love to hear from friends while he is recuperating. Doc's email address is: docuphaus@gmail.com.
From Ralph Nelson: Dr. John Salmon passed away at his care facility in Happy Valley on Friday, May 21. John had a long and wonderful history with the Portland Symphonic Choir. A well-respected Presbyterian minister, John was a noted scholar and professor in the Hebrew language. He came to Portland after singing with the Dayton Philharmonic Choir in Dayton, Ohio. In Portland, he sang Bass in the PSC as well as being a faithful Board Member then Chair of the Board in the early 2000s. John also sang with the Bach Cantata Choir as well as all the churches that he served or attended -- including St. Mark's Presbyterian and Rose City Park Presbyterian. One of my fondest memories of John was accompanying him on the spiritual Goin' Home (Dvorak, New World Symphony) which he often sang as a soloist for funerals. After a long, beautiful, and meaningful life, I know that John has now gone home to be with his Savior and also his dear Jane, who preceded him in death a number of years ago.
