From Dale: It's Thanksgiving time and a moment for all of us to "take a pause” and consider our blessings. I am so appreciative of every one of you for your talent and perseverance these past several months. To say this is an unusual or "unprecedented time" is an understatement for both ourselves as individuals but also our greater community of the Portland Symphonic Choir. Your grace, understanding, and flexibility is truly appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving!
From Claire: Support the Portland Symphonic Choir and gain visibility for your small business venture by purchasing ad space in our Wintersong programs. See the attached PDF to learn more about how to advertise with PSC!
From Alissa: We hope you enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday and take some time to rest, relax, and recharge. This is an excellent time to score study and practice! Though concentrated practice time is the most opportune, anytime is a good time to sing — roll out your pie crust while singing “Grace” or peel your potatoes to “Yemaya”! Still tripping over those tricky spots in the OMM/Deeter? Break them down while you take a walk — the point is, even at our busiest, we can find time to work on our music. Your effort will make the experience more meaningful for everyone. (Link to Website Study Resources)
From Wendy: We have 3 rehearsals left before our dress rehearsal for Wintersong! We will be spending these final rehearsals ironing out logistics as we are singing in a new space with many new variables. At this point in our process, all technical aspects of the music (notes and rhythms) should be secure so we can focus on final touches and singing in the sanctuary. Please spend time with your music on Monday – sing through with recordings and review rehearsal notes. Thanks in advance for your time and attention!
From Daryl Brown: Want to play a game of trivia? Or maybe you like playing bingo. Well, how about TRIVINGO! Join your Portland Symphonic Choir friends and alumni on Tuesday, November 30 at 7:00 pm. Yes, it’s another fun PSC game night with a collection of music trivia questions but the answers are on a bingo-like grid. Fill in a line (or box, or criss-cross) and you WIN! Sign up right away by sending a note to Claire (reply email here) saying “SIGN ME UP FOR TRIVINGO!” The deadline for Choir members to sign up to play is Sunday, November 21. On November 24, you will receive an email from Daryl with your TWO game-board grids attached. You will also be told who your TRIVINGO partner will be. (If you want to play with a special friend, have them sign up and tell us to make you a pair). A general reminder with more specific “how to play” notes and the ZOOM link will be sent via email on November 28th. At that time you will want to print out your TWO game-board grids then show up on ZOOM at 7:00 pm on November 30th for the great memories and laughs.
