From our Artistic Leaders: In order for us to stay as vigilant as possible in our COVID-19 safety protocols while ensuring that we have time to manage our rehearsals successfully, the Leadership is extending rehearsals to 9:30. By doing so, we will be more effective and create a better product for our upcoming performances. Thank you for your understanding.

From Wendy: Many thanks to those of you who spent last Monday night practicing your music. Please continue to use the study resources on our website and practice on your own. As you know, our rehearsal time together is very limited so self-study is an important part of our rehearsal process.

Speaking of practicing… our very own Claire created a diction recording of Bogoroditse for you. Please check it out (link -- scroll to the bottom of the page).

I have a special request for all sopranos and altos. Please come to rehearsal this coming Monday warmed up as we are starting with the Britten and I want to spend all of our fifteen minutes together working on this piece.

Finally, a huge thanks to our section leaders who are providing amazing leadership during this time. Thank you, thank you Cameron, Helen, Ralph, and Phill!

From Alissa: Bocelli Singers: The concert is just a few weeks away -- there is no more time to stumble along in rehearsals so if you have any insecurities on notes, diction, or rhythms, NOW is the time to practice.

Everyone: Tim Tatischeff is reprinting the OMM/Deeter octavo so it can fit more easily into your folders. I have taken advantage of this reprint to fix a few errors in the score and add more markings — I think it will be much easier to read now. THANK YOU TIM!!! Our librarians will have the music available for you to check out "upstairs" on the way to the courtyard. Rehearsal tracks are available in Study Resources on our website as well as Dr. Carl DuPont’s pronunciation recording.

Orange Cohort, Riu: There is now a pronunciation recording available of Dr. DuPont speaking the Spanish. Please review the notes and pronunciation of the chorus for Monday’s rehearsal.

Orange Cohort, Il est bel est bon: We will be focusing on the language this week. Take time to work with the video of Jean-Baptiste Bertrand breaking down the diction and enjoy the delightful recording of the King's Singers available in Study Resources.

Purple Cohort: We will be introducing Hyo-Won Woo’s O Magnum Mysterium at our next rehearsal. You can listen and follow along here. This is the same video found in Study Resources. Rehearsal tracks will be available soon.

From Claire: Hello Singers! Please remember your mask and music on Monday. Thank you for lining up and responding to the screening questions so well.

We've been so appreciative of the many hands making light work and we will be looking for a few extra hands to remove the tables from the Whitman Room for set up on Monday.

For the Bocelli concert, our parking will be near the grain silos just west of the Moda Center, roughly a quarter mile walk (the Aegeon Lot on Thunderbird Way). For those wanting to purchase discounted tickets using the promo code "BELIEVE", the code should be entered before selecting seats in the area marked "unlock passcode." Apologies for the opacity about how to use the code -- see the attached graphic for an example of where to enter it. The special pricing is only valid for ticket orders through this coming Monday, October 18. https://www.ticketmaster.com/andrea-bocelli-portland-oregon-11-04-2021/event/0F005A858B8E0E28

Today is the last call for additional masks! If you're expecting a second mask and haven't already paid or emailed me, please send an email to me today: claire@pschoir.org. Also, I've been sending emails checking your name for the program draft and your contact info for our records as well as any necessary reminders about dues and membership forms.

About one third of the Choir has used the online system to pay for their mask. As a reminder, if you are able to do so, here is the link to reimburse the Choir for the cost of your mask ($30) AND/OR if you want to donate to cover the cost for a member who is not able to afford it.
